New Orleans & Surrounding Area

March 22 – March 26, 2019: Grace flew in from Seattle to join us in New Orleans for a long weekend! We ran into Brad and Nancy Sissom (friends from church in Boulder, CO) on a college tour trip with their daughter, Grace!

Jean Laffite Barataria Preserve and Air Boat Ride: We took a walk down the boardwalk of the Jean Lafitte Barataria Preserve where we saw a variety of wildlife in its natural environment. Then we took an air boat tour of the area just south of the Barataria Preserve on Lake Salvador. Our air boat driver was interesting…he fed the alligators marshmallows so they eagerly came to our boat when we arrived, he had his own pet baby alligator that we all got to hold, but we did get to see beautiful swamp land.
