Black Canyon of the Gunnison NP & Gunnison CC Project (June 8 – 13, 2019)

June 8 – 13: We have been interested in potentially doing Habitat for Humanity type of volunteer work. So when a call came out in our church newsletter that a team from our church was being organized to help finish up a build project on a church in Gunnison where for a former church member is now the minister. Meanwhile, we were only 1 hour from Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park and were able to tick off another National Park!

Sunday, June 9: OK, the first photo is from a hike on Marshall Mesa looking towards Boulder. The second photo is the drive up to Crested Butte. The rest are Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park–spring and early summer rain resulted in amazingly green scenery as well as beautiful wild flowers!

June 10 – 12: We  joined friends of our from our church, First Congregational Church in Boulder to help former member and minister of Gunnison Congregational Church, Wendy Kidd, to build out the community space of their new church.
