Eastern Montana, Teddy Roosevelt NP, North Dakota and South Dakota (July 14 – 19)

July 14 – 16: After finishing up with an amazing Webster Rasmussen Family Reunion in Missoula, I was able to visit with one of my closest middle school and high school friend, Cynthia Gorsh Winter. Then we took off for North Dakota via Great Falls, MT and Hwy 12. My brother Jay and I spent many visits in our younger years going to visit Great Aunt Ruth and Great Aunt Madge and their respective families in Great Falls and that area. One of my fondest memories was of the CM Russell Museum that mom took us to on almost every visit.

July 16 – 18: Our destination was Theodore Roosevelt National Park, ND. We were surprised by the vast beauty of the badlands of Western North Dakota and Teddy Roosevelt NP.

July 18: I also was able to rendezvous with my other close friend from middle school, Debbie Reynolds Clark in Bismark, ND. We headed south from North Dakota to drive through enough of South Dakota to count it as visiting the state! Neither Tom or I had been to South Dakota! We need to come back to see all the National Parks and sites on the west side of the state, but we can officially say, we visited South Dakota!
