We have been on the road again, this time focusing on the Pacific NW. After 2 weeks in Montana, we drove from Trout Creek, MT to Twisp, WA via Highway 20 to start our 2 weeks in Washington. We continued across Hwy 20 with Northern Cascades National Park as our kick off point and we were not disappointed. I thought I had been here over 30 years ago and was not all that impressed at the time. I guess I wasn’t here at that time as I was quite impressed!

Maple Pass Loop off of Rainy Pass proved to be an amazing hike. It was suggested to us that we take the counter clock-wise direction as the view going up is better and less steep. We should have come down the same way we went up because the steep grade going down just about killed my knees! I noticed everyone our age went UP the steep side :).
