Images of Schoodic Point & Acadia National Park, Maine – Part 1(Aug 1 – 7, 2021)

I am overwhelmed with the beauty of what we have been able to experience the past 3 weeks in our new home at the Schoodic Institute on Schoodic Peninsula, which is part of Acadia National Park in Maine. We were visited by our son Will and his wife Chrissy the first week we were here (PART 1). Then had a a day with Tom’s cousin Diane and her husband Terry. And we finished off our 3rd week here with Tom’s brother Alan and his wife Robin (PART 2)

In between all these wonderful visits and sight seeing, we are working 4 days on with 4 days off at the Welcome Center at the Schoodic Institute. I will cover that adventure in another blog post. Meanwhile, enjoy these photos!

Schoodic Peninsula

The Schoodic Institute is located at the end of the Schoodic Peninsula and all of these images are within a 1/2 mile from our accomodations. We walk every morning to either Schoodic Point or Blueberry Hill on days that we work at the Welcome Center.

Cadillac Mountain & Acadia Mountain

We drove up Cadillac Mountain having the requisit reservation. It was rather sane and parking was available since the park is limiting the number of folks who can drive up to Cadillac Mountain throughout the day.

We then hiked to the top of Adadia Mountain, which was signifcantly more difficult than driving up Cadillac, but we were greeted with amazing views of Somes Sound. The hike down required much bum scooting on my part! Too bad, no pictures of that!!
