Images Near Schoodic Point & Acadia National Park, Maine – Part 2 (Aug 10 – 18, 2021)

Welcome to Part 2 of our adventures in Acadia National Park. We had one day of touring Tom’s cousin, Diane and her husband Terry around our area. A few days later, Tom’s brother Alan and his wife Robin joined us for 4 days. More overwhelmingly beautiful photos were taken trying to capture this amazingly diverse area.

Sea Princess Cruise to Isleford (Little Cranberry Island) out of NE Harbor, Mount Desert Island, Acadia NP

Tom and I took this tour to Isleford and surrounding area 2 years ago when we visited this area. So I only included new vistas, which included the International One Design Class sailing race out of NE Harbor. Apparently this class of sailing out of NE Harbor is one of 11 clubs that sail these exact same sailboats around the world. They race every Monday and Saturday out of NE Harbor and our tour guide was beyond thrilled that he finally got to see them with their colorful jib sails up. It was quite exciting!

We also saw the Sunbeam, a 74-foot boat that brings an RN and telemedicine facilities to a the outer islands off the Maine Coast. The boat also acts as a community center to the people on these remote islands to provice fellowship, meals and meetings. It also can act as an ice-breaker in the winter opening up passageways for other boats.

Tidal Falls near Sullivan, ME

Tidal Falls is a preserve near Sullivan, ME, which is only about 10 miles from us. It is where the falls actually reverse with the tide coming in and going out 2x each day. They also have some pretty amazing tide pools for sealife exploration.
