We spent 4 days camping in Custer, SD with our friends, Cindy Mueller and Rick Kron, and Renee Krahn (we missed Oliver–he couldn’t join us) joining us from a nearby hotel. Our second full day exploring, Friday, May 27th, focused on sites in Custer State Park. The Needles Highway and Sylvan Lake and driving the Wildlife Loop Road in the southern part of the Custer State Park kept us busy.

Needles Highway
To call Needles Highway and highway is a misnomer. We knew enough to NOT take the rig down this highway with tunnels 8′ wide and 10′ tall! Our truck just fit!! The Needles rock formations did prove for amazing scenery.

Road was a bit tight and not a lot of parking
Tight Squeeze!
Each hairpin turn brought you another facsinating view
More Needles along the way

I was there a few years ago and seriously enjoyed it. Look forward to seeing you guys soon. Unfortunately, Martha had to cancel so it will be just we three.
