Here’s what we love about our life at Schoodic
There’s lots of interesting aspects of our life on the Schoodic Point and surrounding area. The locals strongly support lobster fishing and there was news from California that Maine lobster fishing was not sustainable due to potentially harming the Right Whale. A number of corporations, such as Hello Fresh” stopped carrying Maine lobster, which was hurting the lobster business. From what I

Fall in MDI & Jessup Path Area, the Tarn and Somes Sound Bridge
I love fall anywhere we are, but of course fall in New England and Maine is spectacular. I have been taken by the birch trees that are everywhere. They are quite similar to Colorado’s aspen trees (BTW, they do have aspen trees in Maine, just not that many), but have subtle differences. The birch trees have a papery bark and rougher trunk and the leaves are serrated on the edge.
We stopped at the Sieur de Monts Visitor Center in Acadia National Park and hiked the Jessup Path and Boardwalk and then back to the Tarn. This area is often not as crowded as other parts of the park, but equally beautiful in its own way.
